He was quite good in his studies and completed his high school studies at Thornton Township High School after that, he got admitted to Illinois of Technology where he obtained his engineering degree.

He marked his new journey in WLS-TV as a part-time weatherman after serving in the military while serving in other fields, then in the year 1967, he began to work at WGN Radio and WGN-TV. He served for both stations together. He takes his retirement in the year 1998 and he served only for WGN Radio. As per the reports, Roger Triemstra the official details of his demise are not out but he also not suffering from any lethal disease. He is thought to have died naturally given his age. He passed away from natural causes, as per the statement. At the time of passing, Roger was 92 years old. Apart from his daughter, Tom Skilling also confirmed his passing news and he release a Tweet related to this news which reads that “My longtime WGN Meteorological Colleague Roger Triemstra, a favourite in the broadcast weather world of the city perished overnight. May God give rest to his divine soul.”
